I am looking for a Magazine called The Dixie Digest, for the period of Dec 1979-Feb 1980, in which, I was told, that I was on the cover and featured inside with pictures with the then Mayor Edward Koch of NY. We were doing Toys for Tots at the Airport. My last name then was Gates.
I was the Admin Chief for the El Maco Reserve Unit, Ft. Schuyler, Bronx, NY. Our CO was Capt Dennis DeLisle.
If anyone can find the Mags or article, I would greatly appreciae it & please contact me at my email below.

My Aunt Margaret Taylor was a lady Marine 70 years ago and is now in the VA Hospital in Syracuse, NY. She would love to hear from other Marines. She will be 80 next month and served 4 years. She fell asleep before we could ask her where she was stationed. She did say had the was not eneded she would have stayed in the Marines. It was great to get what little info we could from her.

Hi Sue, Your Aunt Margaret is a very special lady, and a very special Marine! I would love to send her a note, and will also forward her info to our local NC-3 Semper Fi Chapter. I assume this is the address: Syracuse VA Medical Center, 800 Irving Ave, Syracuse, NY 13210. Attn: Margaret Taylor. Take care and please tell your aunt Semper Fi from all of us! Sgt. I have a picture of me by the Molly Marine statue, taken the day after dedication…Nov 11 1943. I would like to send it to the chapter, if only I had a LA-1 address.

Could someone please tell me how to place an obituary in the Women Marines magazine for a friend of mine, Mary K Bennett, who passed away May 22, 2015 in Portland Oregon? She was one of the first Women Marines in the early 40’s.
